WhatsApp stopped supporting Android 4.0.4 and iOS 9

WhatsApp regularly updates its application to add new security and usability features to these messengers. As a result, the minimum hardware and operating system required to run this program are constantly being upgraded, and today a new group of phones and operating systems have been introduced that are no longer able to support this application.

If the user has a device that is no longer supported by WhatsApp, he must update his operating system or provide a new device. Due to the feature offered in the new Android 12 phones, it is possible to transfer chat history even from iPhone to Android, and there is no problem in this regard.

WhatsApp says devices running Android 4.0.4 or later will no longer be able to use the messenger as of November 1. This version was released as a straw ice cream in 2011. On this account, products such as the Galaxy S2, Galaxy S3 Mini, Galaxy Core, Galaxy Ace 2, LG Optimus L5 Dual, Optimus L4 II Dual, Optimus F7, and Optimus F5 are out of support.

WhatsApp has also announced the end of support for the Huawei Ascend Mate, Ascend D2, and Ascend P1 S. A number of Sony products such as the Xperia Miro, Xperia Neo L, and Xperia Arc S and ZTE products such as the Grand S Flex, Grand Memo and ZTE V956 have also lost this support. Products like the HTC Desire 500, Alcatel Archos 53 Platinum, and Lenovo A820 Umi X2 are also on the list.

In addition, WhatsApp has stopped supporting iOS 9 and older. With this account, the owners of the iPhone 6, iPhone 6S, and iPhone SE of the first generation, who have not updated their devices to the new versions of iOS, have lost the possibility of using WhatsApp. But if they install newer updates, they will have no problem using these messengers.

KaiOS users will only be able to access WhatsApp in versions 2.5.0 and later, and will not be able to do so in older versions.
