Facebook’s $ 10 billion investment: The future belongs to Metaverse and Youth

Mark Zuckerberg recently announced that he would improve Facebook’s priority and its tools for serving young people. He also claims that the future is for Metavars, which is why he wants to invest $ 10 billion in virtual reality and augmented reality.

Zuckerberg announced at Facebook’s third-quarter financial reporting meeting that the company will do more to attract users between the ages of 18 and 29. He said the Instagram Reels service would be as important to the company as the story. Zuckerberg promised that Facebook and Instagram would make changes next year to focus on videos and make Reels a central part of the social media experience.

The Facebook CEO said it would take months, not years, to make these fundamental changes. The issue of young and adolescent users has become a controversial issue for Facebook following the revelations of Francis Hagen. In addition, Facebook and Instagram are said to have seen a sharp decline in engagement from young people and teens over the years.

Zuckerberg stressed that one of the company’s biggest goals will be to enter the world of Metavars. He did not comment on reports that Facebook had changed its name, but said the company had big ambitions for Metawares. “Our goal is for Metaverse to reach billions of people,” Zuckerberg said, noting that Metaverse could start a multibillion-dollar business.

According to Facebook, Metawares will become independent in a unit called Reality Labs and will receive a $ 10 billion investment. This capital is set to increase in the coming years with the development of the virtual reality and augmented reality world. In addition to hardware, the Metavars unit will also operate in the field of software and content. Facebook says virtual reality and augmented reality will be central to the next generation of online social experiences.
