WhatsApp is apparently working on optimizing this feature by adding a new “Backup Volume Management” button so that users can specify which contents to back up when choosing their own devices.
The ability to back up chats in iCloud / Google Drive is useful when switching devices. WhatsApp seems to be adding new features to the backup feature. WhatsApp version 2.21.21.7 for Android users is equipped with a backup volume management button that allows users to specify which items they want to back up, according to the WABetaInfo website.
